Jared and Rebecca | LDS Wedding | Portland Wedding Photographer

Jared and Rebecca were married in the Portland Oregon Temple. You know the big white castle with the golden man on top. You can see it from I-5 in Lake Oswego. If you have driven I-5 you have to have seen it. I was not able to photograph the actual ceremony and that is okay, because the Temple is a sacred place for Jared and Rebecca. I took the first look and the pictures around the grounds after they were sealed (married). I have experience with temple weddings, the best picture is when the temple is in the background with the couple standing in front of the reflection pool. I swear! Google β€œLDS temple pictures” and there will be picture after picture of this shot. All year around the flowers are flawless nurtured to sublimity. The grounds are clean, people are still and reverent. Jared and Rebecca are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

We started with the first look, you could see eagerness in their eyes, they knew they were about to embark on a whole new adventure together. A lot of times I see nerves but not at temple weddings there is peace and serenity. As they grabbed each others hands for the first time and looked into one another's eyes it was as if they were saying to each other, β€œAre you ready”? β€œLet’s start our forever together.” They were both prepared to get married and so the next step was to disappear behind the tall glass doors. The next time I saw them their hands were joined together in the air, celebrating their first moment of eternity. Their families elevating them with cheers as they walked out those same glass doors. They went inside and their lives had changed when they returned.

Jared and Rebecca believe being sealed in the temple is for all time and eternity not death do us part. That is a long time to love someone. Truly a fairy tale kind of love. You really have to be sure about your spouse and be sure you could love them for forever. I have known Rebecca and her family for almost fifth-teen years and I have seen that kind of love between the two of them. Temple sealings are very close to my heart. It is hard to explain in words. It is more of a feeling within my soul. There is beauty surrounding every part of your body. Beauty from the newlyweds, family beaming with pride and joy, and nature's beauty groomed to perfection, but yet there is a peace and comfort that is tender to my heart. It resonates within.
